Did You Know?

  • Jeremy Renner was originally cast in the movie, but he dropped out because of scheduling conflicts.
  • Originally, the story was rumored to involve Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, and Scrat frozen solid and accidentally defrosted in a museum in present day. The film was to be called “Ice Age: The4w”.
  • The villain Captain Gutt is a Gigantopithecus which is a prehistoric orangutan.

Anachronisms: In this movie Ice Age Continental Drift, the squirrel Scrat is the cause of the continental drift, which splits the earth land into 5 continents, namely America, Europe, Aiso, Africa and Australia. That is to say, the beginning of the movie as well as the 3 previous Ice Age movies must take place on the continent Pangaea existing 300 million years ago and began to split apart 200 million years ago. However, the ice age occurred about 20,000 years ago, when the five continents already existed!

Peaches: So tell me, when exactly will I be allowed to hang out with boys?

Manny: When I’m dead. Plus three days, just to make sure I’m dead.

Gastornis bird chicks: When you drink water through your trunk, does it taste like boogers?

Gastornis bird chicks: Well…Sometimes, Now let’s move!

User Reviews

Okay for kids.

They knew they had to make a film that was entertaining. Dawn of the Dinosaurs was a step backwards and was flat. Madagascar Europes Most Wanted and Brave were big hits and sometimes people get tired of CGI cartoons. Scat gets less screen time but he’s still fun. New characters make this film better but not great. The photo-realistic animation is great. The voice-overs are great. There’s plenty of pretension and funny moments! —By erich b on Mon, July 16, 2012 8:48PM

Pretty good.

well…..i watched, it was pretty good but not like i thought it would be.
i mean, basically the only funny parts in it were the ones posted in the ads. i’m not saying u shouldn’t watch it at all, but if your looking for a movie with millions of humorous scenes, this is not the movie.
also , not as good as 1, 2, and 3.
but i really enjoyed it, otherwise! i came with my twins (a boy and girl), and they both loved it!
my overall review….4!—By Leah on Sun. July 15, 2012 4:27PM

Ok, not the greatest

This series seems to have run out. It was OK, not a lot of laughs. More for little kids. I didn’t think it was as good as the rest.

The script wasn’t as flushed out as it could have been, I think there could have been a lot more jokes in it. In a few spots they pushed it too far and it got a bit cheesy.

I don’t think I’ll be seeing any more of these movies, if they make any more of them….. —By Steve on Sun. July 15, 2012 11:03AM
